Welcome to Hangtime's Stand Up Paddle Board Section!
NEW* Jimmy Lewis SUP Demo Weekend 9th & 10th May 2009!
NEW* SUP / Body Board & Lifesaving Club at Fleetwood this summer, If your interested in gettinginvolved either as an instructor, participant or volunteer helper give us a ring and we'll put you in touch with Nigel who is setting up the club!
We're new converts to the Stand Up Paddle Board scene which seems to be developing fast in the U.K. and although most people are doing it in the South we're confident that we're starting a fledgling scene here in the North.

Now lets be clear these things are not the cheapest things in the world BUT they are uber versatile, you can paddle on flat water, waves, rivers, canals, lakes, ocean, swimming pools (if it's your own!) etc...
You can go for distance, fun, recreation or surf and some boards even have the option to attach a windsurf rig to get going in the lightest of winds! You can even get your kids out on the board with you and of course you can ride waves too!

It's not quite as easy as it looks either initially the boards feel very tippy and it takes a little while to get dialled in, this can take only a few sessions though and before you know it you can ride the waves in confidence. The paddle skills ain't too hard and if you've got any open canoe experience you'll pick it up double fast.

Great "core" muscle work out and cheaper than 2 people's gym membership + you've got it for life.
